Accomodation
Contained within the sympathetically restored Grange, ROUFFIAGUET provides three, one bedroom, apartments for couples. Referred to as Gîte Noix/Walnut, Noisette/Hazelnut and Châtaigne/Chestnut, each has a sunny southern aspect. The rooms stay cool as they have thick stone walls, double glazing and shutters to shade the interior from the sun. Each gîte has it's own patio, screened by plants, sufficient to maintain a degree of privacy or, if preferred, encourage the development of friendships.
Gîte wifi extends to be available on each patio. Each apartment comprises a comfortable Salon with corner kitchen, dining area, a large bedroom with double bed and en-suite shower room facilities. Television sets (French and English free to view tv channels) together with CD/DVD players are provided as well as a range of English (three pin) and French (two pin) electrical sockets. Gîtes are also provided with all necessary bedding and bath towels. If you are flying and would like to save space, we can provide pool towels.There is ample off road parking. Minimum three night stay, except high season when it is six nights (unless you see a gap in the calendar of 2 - 5 nights, last minute).
Immediately to the south east of the barn, in a sheltered part of the site but with a tantalising view of the Chateau de Rouffiac, is the 12m x 5m x 1.4m swimming pool in which to lounge, exercise or simply float whilst soaking up the sunshine. The pool is shared with two other couples, if we are full but it seems to be a rare occasion when more than one couple, are there at the same time. In such times, the patio area is large enough so you are not on top of each other. No glass in the pool area.
Many visitors prefer to prepare meals al-fresco and we are therefore pleased to provide charcoal barbeque and equipment for your use on a slightly larger patio area. We appreciate that many visitors may wish to smoke but we would ask that you do not do so in any of the rooms, both for insurance purposes and in consideration of non-smokers who will be occupying the rooms after your departure. Basic cleaning equipment is provided. There is free use of the washing machine at the house. We would appreciate the apartments being left in a clean and tidy condition, suitable for our next visitors.
If you are leaving early and would rather we cleaned the gîte on your departure, there is a charge of 30€. If you are going to a wedding at Chateau la Durantie then we can give you a lift, 5€ per journey (not after midnight). Or you maybe attending a wedding at Domaine d'Essendieras, Excideuil, we can also give you a lift (8€ per trip). We regret that we are unable to cater for pets at the present time. Our costs have risen so our nightly price has increased to reflect the extra work for short stays but our weekly price has remained attractive.
